Raymond Allison Barton, 78, of Ottawa, Ontario, passed away peacefully, with family by his side, on January 25, 2025. He was born on September 21, 1946, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, but lived most of his life in Ottawa.
Raymond was a dedicated civil engineer, responsible for many Canadian projects from coast to coast. His expertise and contributions made him an influential consultant for the Canadian trucking industry. Above all, Raymond was a devoted family man. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, creating lasting memories. He also enjoyed golfing and fishing in his leisure time, and was known for his love of storytelling, often repeating his favorite tales with joy and enthusiasm.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife, Therese; his children, Erin, Matthew, Adam, Simon, and Jocelyn (Gaumond); his grandchildren, Olivia, Gabrielle, Isaac, Douglas, Bradley (Robertson), Lincoln, Miles, Bella (Rocheleau), and Grace (Lambert). He is also survived by his children's spouses, Tania, Jackie, and Sabrina (Lambert). He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A small, private ceremony for family and close friends will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Raymond's memory to the Ottawa Heart Institute.
