Raymond Brendan Lefebvre

September 15, 1951 — October 7, 2023

Mississauga

Raymond,(Ray), Lefebvre, Son of Raymond Lefebvre (Sr), Catherine Lefebvre (nee Johnstone), Sister Sandra (Sister Catherine), and daughter Dominique, all deceased. Beloved Father of Raymond Anthony, and Danielle Marie Lefebvre, and husband to Hannah Lefebvre, (nee Cryan).

Ray passed on October 7th 2023, after a courageous struggle against heart and kidney disease. He received stellar care from all the staff at The Renal Care Centre at Credit Valley Hospital, with a special shout-out to Dr Kim, and Home Hemodialysis nurses Michaeline, and Carol.

Ray worked for many years in Sales, Marketing, and Real Estate as well as Consulting work, based in Toronto and Mississauga.

Ray embraced his in-laws in New Zealand, Australia, and Britain as his own family, and loved them dearly, which they all reciprocated, and was unfailingly welcoming to Mary, John, and his brothers and sisters-in-law, and members of the Cryan family. They are all heartbroken at his loss.

Ray was an interesting character, he loved film, history and science fiction. Ray's first priority in life was always his family. He had a very quirky sense of humour and whenever he was faced with adversity or hardship, he always found a way to laugh about it.

Ray grew up in Montreal with his older sister Sandra. His father was an RCMP officer and his mother was a secretary who worked at many different Canadian banks throughout her life.

Ray's family were very devout Catholics, his sister Sandra was a prominent member of her clergy and a sister of St. Joseph's in Toronto. Tragically Ray's sister died in a car accident when he was only 16 years of age. His father passed that same year from a heart attack. This left Ray's mother, Catherine, to raise him by herself.

Through the tragedy of losing his father and sister, Ray's bonds with his mother grew very strong. When Ray was older and more established in his career he decided to move to Ontario, where he met his wife and love of his life, Hannah. After marrying Hannah, Ray welcomed his mother Catherine from Montreal into his home where she lived with him and Hannah. Eventually Ray and Hannah started their own family having two children, Danielle and Raymond Jr.

Ray loved animals, both cat's and dogs. Ray always had a dog growing up as well as in his adult years. He would often reminisce about his childhood dog, Duffer, who was exceptionally intelligent. Since then, Ray has always had a dog, his most recent one being Beau who has been a great comfort to him and his wife in recent years.

Ray will also be missed by his cousins in Toronto and Montreal, good friends in Mississauga and Toronto and most of all by his children and “wee wifey” Hannah.
