Rupke Rebecca (Katie) – Surrounded by her children at the Mill Creek Nursing Home in Barrie on Wednesday April 16, 2025 in her 97th year, Rebecca (Katie) Rupke passed through death’s door into eternal life. Beloved wife of the late Chris Rupke, dear mother of Patricia Smith and her husband Ton Lobert of Burlington, Ron and his wife Margaret of Brighton, Dan and his wife Mary of Oro Starion, Judy-Ann Alexander and her husband John of Kitchener, and Mark and his wife Wilma Van Barneveld of Grafton. She was pre-deceased by her parents Pieter and Titia Mulder, by brother Peter Mulder, sister Ann & husband Henk Mein, and by all the Rupke relatives of her generation and their spouses. Katie was a loving grandmother to 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Her body already lies interred in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery near Bradford, on a site shared with her late husband Chris Rupke. Friends may comfort her children and grandchildren at the First Christian Reformed Church [33 Shirley Street in Barrie] on Saturday May 3 from 10 a.m. to 11:30.

A funeral service/celebration of life led by Pastor Siebren Van Daalen will immediately follow the visitation, and a light lunch will be offered in the Church Fellowship Hall.
