Regis Cormier

June 30, 1927 — October 31, 2013

CORMIER, Regis Joseph
With family at his side, Reg Cormier, 86 years, passed away peacefully in Port Elgin Ontario on October 31, 2013 after a lengthy and valiant struggle with declining health.
Lovingly remembered and by his children Brian (Alice), Debra (Peter Petzold) Gord, (Margaret Ann) and Lorie (Paul Carey) and by his grandchildren Robert and Jennifer Cormier, Michael and Melissa Cormier, and Christina and Matthew Carey. He was the husband of Loretta (pre-deceased 2007) and Catherine (Kitty).
Reg is dearly missed by his loving sister Yvonne (Les Stewart); sisters-in-law Gwen, Bert, and Teresa; numerous nieces and nephews, and his special friend and card-partner Nora Shaw. Reg was predeceased by his parents Dr. Wilfred Cormier and Corinne (Gallant) Cormier; by brothers Hector, Arthur, Lionel and Edwin (Patricia); and by his sister Estelle (Gerry Blenkhorn).
Reg engaged all who met him with his warm smile, his easy going disposition and his keen sense of humour. Innovative and talented, Reg was the ?MacGyver? of his day designing and building creations that became sources of marvel and amazement. He loved playing cribbage and euchre, completing daily crossword puzzles, rooting for the Blue Jays and reading. Reg worked as a millwright for INCO in Sudbury Ontario and later for Syncrude in Fort McMurray Alberta. Retiring initially to Peachland BC, Reg and Kitty moved back to Ontario in 2010 to be closer to family.
At Reg?s request, there will be no public visitation or service.
