Rein Huberg

Rein "Hubie" Huberg
(Dec. 29 1950 - Dec. 14 2020)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rein Huberg on December
14, 2020 at the age of 69. He was the much loved Son, Husband, Dad, Brother,
Brother-in-Law, Uncle, Grandpa and dear Friend to many.  He fought his cancer to
the end with the fierceness of an Estonian Viking yet the gentleness of a
pussycat.

Rein was born in Toronto, ON on December 29, 1950 and was raised mostly in
Scarborough & Weston before moving to Oshawa & Newcastle, ON. He was
pre-deceased by his parents: Leida (Kalda) Huberg and Elmar & Eha Huberg.  He
was also pre-deceased by his loving In-Laws: Jacques & Claudia Vautour.

He was a truly dedicated Licensed Auto Technician to Canadian Tire Corporation for
over 45 years ending his career at the Garden & Taunton location in Whitby.

Throughout his life Rein enjoyed fishing and assisting his young son with
go-karting. But, besides spending time with family - especially his 6
grandchildren, his greatest passion was learning and exploring new and improved
methods of organic gardening.

Rein is survived by Cathy, his loving wife of 47 years; his 2 children Lisa
Huberg-Law (Brian) and Eric (Amber); 6 grandchildren: Tyson Huberg, Riley
Huberg, Rex Law,  Mary Huberg, Breanne Law and Henley Huberg.  He was cherished
Brother-in-law to: Dianne & Pat (deceased) Chappell, Rose-Ella & Ian Henry, Real
Vautour and Stella & Jeff Smith.  He will be lovingly remembered by his nieces
and nephews.  Rein is also survived by his brother Peet Huberg of Nova Scotia.

Rein was blessed by the great friends that enriched his life both personally and
professionally and will surely be missed by them.

A celebration of life will take place possibly in June or July 2021 when
COVID-19 restrictions allow.
