Richard "George" Dobinson

Passed away peacefully on March 18, 2024 at the age of 80.   George is survived by his wife Sandra, son John (Danielle) and his much-loved granddaughters Olivia and Madalyn.  He was predeceased by his brother Brian (Carol).  Uncle to Dawn (Douglas) and Glen (Val).

George grew up in Montreal and spent many summers at the cottage in Morin Heights  - working on a farm and hunting and fishing in the Laurentians.  After getting married, George and Sandra moved to Ottawa and settled in Navan.  He later landed a job (mechanic) at OC Transpo where he made some good friends.   George enjoyed many breakfasts with the “Breakfast Gang” and many lunches with retired co-workers.

At George’s request, there will be no funeral service.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Basic Funerals and Cremation Choices – Orleans.    Any donations to the Ottawa Humane Society, Wild Bird Care Centre or charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Sandra and John would like to extend a special thank you to neighbours and friends for all their kindness.
