Richard Ladouceur

Richard Ladouceur and popularly known as “Rick” was born on January 23, 1950 in Carlsbad Springs, Ontario. He passed away peacefully on Tuesday September 20th, 2022 at the young age of 72, from battling heart issues at the Ottawa Heart Institute. He was brought into this world by his “still” living Mom of 96 years old, Lina Ladouceur (Bérubé) and by his late father Walter Ladouceur. He was formally married to Brenda Ladouceur (Brian Dunmall), the mother of his two daughters, Aline Ladouceur (Steve James) and the late Laura Ladouceur. He was also a very proud grandfather to his one and only grandchild Brad Barden. Leaving to mourn are his three siblings, sister Claire Bourgon (late Richard), brother Gerard Ladouceur (Suzanne) and other brother Jean-Paul Ladouceur (late Julie) along with many nieces and nephews.

Richard was a witty, funny, competitive and a “very” independent man. He was always hard working and could maneuver an 18-wheeler and all types of large equipment and like he always said “with his eyes closed”.  He also had a passion for horses, he loved his horse pulls and watching his daughters compete at events and rodeos. He also loved to collect A LOT of stuff, if he didn’t have five of everything he didn’t have one, he really enjoyed collecting antiques and re-selling them at flea markets and to this day we are not quite sure he made any money doing it but he sure loved the social aspect of it! He loved to talk to people and make them laugh…he was good at it! Richard was also a long time member of the Russell Legion, where he always enjoyed beating anyone in a good game of Euchre, Pool or Shuffleboard.

As we all mourn the loss of Richard, we will always cherish so many good fond memories of him. He will be missed dearly by so so many! With that being said, please join us on Saturday November 12th between 2pm-6pm at the Greely Legion located at 8021 Mitch Owens Rd for the Celebration of Life of Richard Ladouceur. In lieu of Flowers, we would greatly appreciate any donations to the Russell Legion Branch 372 to help with renovations from their tragic fire they had earlier this year! Richard would have loved this!!! ❤️ ~ You may be gone from our sight but you’ll never be gone from our Hearts ~ ❤️
