Richard Fredrick Purchase

Richard “Ricky” Purchase passed away on June 1st 2023 at the age of 60 years, at Sunnybrook hospital after a lengthy fight following an unexpected heart attack. His battles with serious medical issues in recent years showcases his mental strength to face life challenges without fear all while trying to help and better those around him. Even though it was a failing heart that took him away, it was that very heart that showed so much compassion and love for his friends and family.

A hard working man, Ricky was accomplished in many different trades which provided incredibly convenient for a son who had enough projects to keep them both busy. He was also a great athlete, whether he was crushing home runs, rounding 3rd base “like a bandit” or smashing bowling pins into the lane beside him. His love for sport and competition wasn’t limited to playing as he cheered on his favourite teams, his son, daughter and grandchildren in their pursuit for victory!

Ricky is survived by his mother Jeannette, his spouse Brenda, his Son Chris and his Daughter Robyn. His personality and attitude was one that captured an audience with ease and his love for family and friends was unrivaled, Richard Fredrick Purchase was not just a great person, he was a Hero.
