It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rino Corradino Sani, age 92, on July 18, 2017 in Ottawa, Ontario.
Rino was born in Siena, Italy on July 12, 1925. After residing in London, England in the early post-war years, he brought his family to Canada in October 1957, and to Ottawa in 1964. He spent his whole career as a Chef, retiring after spending 30 years as Executive Chef at the Talisman Hotel in Ottawa. Rino had a passion for travelling, and was fortunate enough to have traveled extensively throughout the world, visiting well over 100 countries.
Rino is survived by his two sons, Athos and Marino (Sherry), and his very special grandchildren, Jerrett and Lia.
A Funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at Holy Redeemer Church at 44 Rothesay Drive, Kanata on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 11:30 am. Burial will follow in the coming weeks at Cimitero di Casciano delle Masse (Montalbuccio), Siena, Italy.
Memorial donations in Rino’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the many homecare providers, and especially to the Elisabeth Bruyere Palliative Care Team, Elizabeth Cain and Melanie, as well as his wonderful neighbours, who took such great care of him during his final months.
