Robert Norman Bunn

BUNN, Robert Norman – Peacefully passed away at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, in Barrie, on January 29th, 2021, in his 87th year. Born in Toronto to Ruby Metcalfe and Horace Bunn in 1934. As a young man, Robert served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1957 – 1960. He did his basic training at CFB Shearwater. He was stationed in Halifax on HMCS Bonaventure as a helicopter mechanic. He later worked at Canada Post for 32 years. Robert was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survived by his wife, Sharon Thain. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in April of this year. He is also survived by his children; Brian Bunn (Cora) of Lindsay, Brenda McKen (Fraser) of Victoria, British Columbia, Brice Bunn (Margaret), Cary Bunn (Richard Stephens), Samuel Bunn, Benjamin Thain, all from Barrie. Grandfather of Colleen Johnson (Scott), Caitlin Innes (Jeff), Brett Bunn (Natalie), Laura Wigelsworth (James), Christine Hannah (Brennan), Heather Tantardini (Kyle), James Bunn; Christopher Smalridge (Kim); Brice, Matthew, and Jonathan Bunn;  Pollux Thain, Adeline Thain, and Elouise Thain. Great-grandfather of Taya and Ainsley Johnson; Anna Innes; Rachel, Erika, Cameron and Vanessa Bunn; Tegan and Soren Wigelsworth; Samantha Chapman (Aaron Yorke), and Kacie Sevinski. Robert was pre-deceased by his sister Molly Dickout in 1999.

A PRIVATE Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2021 at 2:00p.m. at Jennett Funeral & Cremation Centre. Due to COVID restrictions attendance has been restricted to just family.
