It is with deep sadness that the family of Robert (Bob) Gass announce his sudden passing on February 19, 2022, at the age of 79, after a brief battle with cancer.
Loving Companion and best friend to Alicia (Mitchell).
Beloved Father to Robert (Robb) and father-in-law to Sonya.
Proud Papa to his three wonderful grandchildren, Sydney, Grace, and Robert (Bert/Robbie).
“He was the greatest mentor, Father and friend a Son could ever wish for”.
He will be sadly missed by his cousin Roger Whitehouse, (wife Jackie) and family in England.
Predeceased by his parents Robert (Bert) and Marion Gass.
Bob was born in East York, Toronto and at the age of 19 joined the ‘Queen’s Cowboys’, (RCMP) stationed in Ottawa and throughout Saskatchewan.
Always the adventurer, he would entertain us with fascinating stories of life as a Mountie and toured with the famous RCMP musical ride.
Returning to Toronto, Bob ran many successful businesses, always setting his own path.
Bob lived multiple lives, never stopped learning, and lived life unconditionally. An avid reader and historian.
Cremation has taken place and his final resting place will be in Huntsville, Ontario where we spent many of our happiest family vacations boating, skiing and snowmobiling; an area of Ontario he fondly referred to as "God’s Country".
Our cherished memories will sustain us. We love you and will miss you terribly.
Special thanks to the caring Doctors and Nurses of Toronto General Hospital, (TGH) and Princess Margaret Hospital. (PMH).
A private limited memorial will take place on Monday, March 7th.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to TGH or PMH.
