Having lived a full life guided by clear values and a tenacious spirit, Robert Paul Hogan passed from this earth on June 21 2021 at age 60yrs. He is the beloved son of Mildred Hogan (nee O’Doherty) and cherished brother of Ann and Debora. He is fondly remembered by a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins whose love for Rob is everlasting. Rob navigated from the heart and expressed gratitude for having experienced so many ‘cool things’. An amateur guitarist and songwriter, he shared a passion for music with loyal ‘buddies’ who were his greatest anchor. Rob was an avid gardener, biker, techie and tinkerer. He gave generously to charity and as a community volunteer. Rob lived his life simply and without pretense. We have come to bear witness that he was a wealth of courage. Rob was valiant and stoic in every challenge he faced particularly during his recent illness. THIS is the stuff of heroes and inspires us all. Deep gratitude to his treasured friend Gerry Dowe who opened her heart and home to Rob. Respect and thank you to Nurse Lauren Braun, Dr. Reynolds and Dr. Chung for their compassionate care (The Ottawa Hospital). Rest in peace, dear Rob. You will be sorely missed.
Due to Covid restrictions, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In memory of Rob, donations to the Canadian Red Cross would be appreciated.
