Robert Joseph Rosen passed away at home in Ottawa, Ontario on March 19, 2018 at the age of 61.
Robert is lovingly remembered by his three children, Mark (Meghan), Brian, and Melanie (Ryan) Brehon, as well as by his four grandchildren, Harmony, Mina, Josephine, and Olivia. Robert is survived by his father Joseph, and his sisters Beverley (Guy) Maltais and Barbara (Bruce) Woitas.
Robert was born in Melfort, Saskatchewan in 1956. He graduated from the Universtiy of Alberta in 1977 with a Bachelor of Music "Cum Laude", and went on to be a composer and a musician. He believed that life was the best teacher, and strove to always be a student. He always found new ways to perceive ideas. Throughout his career he enjoyed working with many of his most respected contemporaries, musicians, and composers.
Robert enjoyed being outdoors in the mountains, where he spent a significant part of his life.
A visitation will be held at Happy Goat Coffee Company, 35 Laurel St, Ottawa, Ontario, on Friday, April 13th from 4:00-6:00pm.
A memorial will be held at the Bill Warren Training Centre, 1995 Olympic Way #100, Canmore, Alberta, on Sunday, April 15th at 1:00pm. A reception with coffee and tea will follow.
