Matsuyama, Ron (Matsy, Mats)- Passed away suddenly at Trillium Hospital on November 28th, 2016 in his 66th year. Loving husband of Marti (Marthine Dudun).

Beloved stepfather of Andy (Melanie). Ron is also survived by brothers Gene (Lavinia) and Larry (Kaye) as well as several nieces and nephews. Son of the late Rex and Sumi.

A graduate of Sheridan College, Ron worked for the City of Toronto, Parks and Recreation. He loved his sports and was the first ever recipient of the CNE Pee Wee Baseball Tournament's MVP award (he played all 6 positions). Ron played hockey for the Weston Dodgers Junior B, the Toronto Marlies, and 30 years of Old Timers Hockey with the Toronto Antiques and Native Sons. A trainer for the Oakville Longhorns football team for over 30 years, Ron was also inducted into the NFC Hall of Fame.

Ron was an avid traveller and spent his earlier years backpacking through Europe. Later, Ron and Marti travelled to the Maritimes, the Caribbean, the USA, Thailand, Vietnam, South Africa, China, and took many trips to his home away from home in Cuba. He was a fantastic cook known for his turkey stuffing and loved his annual fishing trips with his buddies.

In addition to his many accomplishments he acted in two movies in the role of a Trainer for a football team:
