Ronald (Ron) Moriarity

With sadness, the Moriarity family of Ottawa announces the unexpected passing of Ronald (Ron) Moriarity. Born in Harbour Grace, Newfoundland, on August 4, 1944, Ron's journey ended in the early evening of January 13, 2024. He was 79.

Ron will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Moira (née Profit); children: Stacey Lawrence (Adam), Robert (Christian), and James; grandchildren: Jenson and Isaac Lawrence; mother-in-law: Maria Profit; sisters: Brenda (Paul), Josephine (Reg), Elaine (late Bob), Betty (Larry), Dianne (Reg), sister-in-law, Diane (Chris), and many relatives and friends. Ron was predeceased by his parents, James and Ellen, and brother, Jimmy. 

A Celebration of Life to honour Ron's memory will be held at the Riviera One Condominiums, Anchor Room, on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at 1500 Riverside Dr., Ottawa. Please advise the main gate attendant that you are attending the Celebration. Instead of flowers, donations may be made in Ron's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).

As we remember Ron, let's carry forward his love for life's simple pleasures, like chatting about the weather and watching a hockey game; in his memory, let's love each other a little more, just as he loved us.
