In Loving Memory of Rosaline Riby - January 22, 1945 -September 23, 2023

Rosaline (Rosie) Riby, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away on September 23, 2023, at the age of 78, after sudden infection due to leukemia complications. Born in Bathurst, New Brunswick, she touched the lives of those around her with warmth, kindness, and a love for life.

Rosie was the cherished wife of Michael Riby, and a loving mother to her son, William Edward (Eddie) Riby (Tracy Laufer).  She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings Robert, Mona, Raymond, Bill (deceased), Cletus, Nicole, Donald, Jacqueline, and Caroline; as well as numerous relatives and friends.

She demonstrated extraordinary strength and resilience facing a challenging battle with chronic lymphocytic leukemia since 2009. Despite her health challenges, Rosie embraced life with grace and made the most of every moment.

Rosie travelled the world, and lived in various countries including Barbados, Bermuda, Thailand, and Spain. In 2004, her and Mike settled into retirement at their cozy condo in Mississauga, where she enjoyed the comforts of home and the company of her loved ones and cherished neighbours.

Rosie welcomed everyone with open arms. She found joy in music, gardening, reading, watching sports and exploring new recipes. She enjoyed browsing the local mall with her sisters, indulging in her love for shopping and discussing the latest trends. Often, she could be found strolling through the creek in her neighbourhood and driving to visit friends and family, brightening their days with her radiant smile.

Rosie will forever be remembered for her kindness, love, and zest for life. Her positive spirit, resilience, and unwavering love for her family and friends will forever leave a positive mark on all who were fortunate to know her.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and joy that will continue to live on in the hearts of her loved ones. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory be a source of comfort and strength for all who mourn her passing.

A celebration of life will be held on September 30, 2023 from 12pm-3pm at St. John’s Dixie Cemetery & Crematorium, Willow Room
