Ross Maurice Miles

September 29, 1944 — March 9, 2022

The family of Ross Maurice Miles mournfully announces his passing on the evening of March 9, 2022, at 77 years old, after a lengthy battle with chronic illnesses. Predeceased by his parents, Dr. Franklin and Hilda Miles, and his son Eric. Ross’ legacy will be forever remembered through his sons, Ryan (Helen) and Brett (Alyssa). Loving brother of Evelyn (Bill) and Harold (Anne). Sincere friend of Carolyn, and Michèle and family. Ross will be remembered by many extended family members and friends across Canada and the United States.

Ross’ battle with chronic illnesses was long and tough, but his ability to endure through the struggle and make the most of life was admirable. His constant support and respect for the healthcare field with which he often interacted was always apparent, especially during his short stay at Barrie’s Hospice Simcoe.

Ross always had a soft spot for animals, particularly the family pets. They always brought out the tender side we all knew Ross had but didn’t show very often. The critters will miss him dearly. To everyone who personally supported Ross over the years and especially during the last few months of his life: it is appreciated, and your care did not go unrecognized.

As per Ross’ wishes, there will be no service. A celebration of life amongst close family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada, Barrie’s Hospice Simcoe, or your local animal shelter in Ross’ memory.

Keep telling those stories, Ross, and we’ll keep sharing ours. Thank you for all you have given us and the wisdom that helped make all our lives better. You will be dearly missed.
