Rosie (Roswitha) Patriquin (1947-2013) passed away peacefully on September 3, at Hospice Niagara, surrounded by loved ones. Beloved wife of Cecil Patriquin for 45 years. Proud and loving mother of Christopher (hematologist) and Michael (electrical engineer).
Born in Germany, Rosie immigrated to Canada with her parents, Kurt and Irmengard Rohrbach and sister Marie, in 1952, and lived in Guelph, Ontario until her graduation from the University of Guelph. Rosie was a highly respected and passionate educator, teaching English Literature in the Peel & Dufferin Boards of Education.
Cremation was followed by a private family ceremony. Rosie's family invites you to join in our tradition and send parting thoughts and wishes to a chosen star in the night sky. Memories, photos and condolences can also be shared with the family through this page.
The family wishes to thank all the wonderful friends, neighbours, doctors, nurses and support staff who cared for Rosie and her family during her ordeal with melanoma. Donations can be made in memoriam to the Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca).
