Rozalia (Hercz) Kovacs

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rozalia “Rosie” Kovacs of Thornhill, Ontario, who passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at the age of 76. In her final days, she was surrounded by her loving husband, sister, and close family near her side. When her time came, she carried herself with dignity, strength, and full of love for those who went before her. She will be missed dearly.

Born on October 30th, 1946 in Oradea, Romania, Rosie filled our lives with love the moment she came into the world. Her good humor and generous spirit touched everyone she met. Her family ask that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life and not the sadness of her passing.

Rosie was an amazing wife to Istvan Kovacs, married for 28 (together for 37) years and hand in hand they built a life full of joy, laughter and happiness, the kind of marriage that only some hope to have in a lifetime. She was a sister and best friend to Margareta (Greti), and sister-in-law to Alex Kovacs. She was a loving aunt to Andrea (Simon Zraidi) and Jessica (Ryan Angus) and Great-aunt to Naomi and Hudson Angus. She made many friends in her lifetime, who will dearly miss her. As a woman of faith, her bravery to start her next journey was one of courage and peace.

The funeral will be held at First Hungarian Presbyterian Church, 95 Jonesville Cres, Toronto on Wednesday, August 23 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception. All friends and family are welcome. The family asks that flowers to be sent to the church on Wednesday after 10:00 a.m. or donations to be made to First Hungarian Presbyterian Church.
