In loving memory of Ruby Edna Johnson (nee Brown) who passed away after a lengthy illness in her one hundred and first year. Predeceased by her dear husband John H. Johnson, her parents George and Sarah (Alice) Brown, and sisters Anne and Phyllis. Survived by her much loved children Paula and Ronald, and daughter-in-law Dorothy. Also survived by and greatly missed by her grandchildren Melissa and Edward, and by her dear sister Joyce of Calgary.
Ruby was a devoted mother and wife, and a wonderful grandmother and sister. She was a talented seamstress, winning dress-making awards in her youth, and in adult life making and altering clothing for both herself and family as well as for many friends, including making an intricate bridesmaid’s gown for her granddaughter when she was already 85 years young. In later life Ruby also honed her interests and abilities in the visual arts and became a skilled painter and artist…and continued painting right into her one-hundred and first year! Ruby was loved by all who knew her and will be sorely missed by all of her family and friends! She lived each of her hundred years to the fullest and wasted not a day – this is her legacy to all those she touched and inspired in life!
A sincere thank you to Pascal for his generous and unconditional help and support.
The family would also like to thank the medical team and staff at Trilogy Long Term Care Residence for the compassionate, and dedicated care they gave Ruby over the last several years!
There's an open gate
At the end of the road
Through which each must go alone,
And there is a light we cannot see
Our Father claims his own;
Beyond the gate, your loved one
Finds happiness and rest
And there is comfort
In the thought
That a loving God knows best.
