The family announces with deep sadness the passing of Rudolphe "Rudy" E. Pharand. On Sunday, September 27th 2020 in Ottawa, Ontario at the age of 75.
Beloved son of Ernest Pharand and Germaine Pharand (nee Landry) (both predeceased).
He leaves behind his loving wife and soul mate Raymonde Marie Pharand.
He will be sadly missed by his daughters Carole Pharand (of Hanmer, Ontario) and Julie Soucy (nee Pharand) (Denis Soucy) (of Capreol, Ontario).
Will be remembered by his loving grandchildren, Natalie Pharand (of Ottawa, Ontario) (Nick Fidler) (Owen Sound, Ontario), Michel "Mikey" Pharand (of Capreol, Ontario) (Billie Jean), Chad Pharand (of Capreol, Ontario) (Danielle Bouvier of Hanmer, Ontario) (pre deceased), Justin Dubois, Curtis Pharand (of Capreol, Ontario), Tina Dubois (of Capreol, Ontario) (pre deceased) and Melissa Savard (of Sudbury, Ontario).
Cherished by his great grandchildren, Boston Pharand-Moore, Johnny Pharand (both of Capreol, Ontario). Kyle Pharand-Fidler and Ally Pharand-Fidler (both of Ottawa, Ontario). Shawn and Olivia Fidler (both of Lavigne, Ontario). Owen William Pharand, Jordan Milne, Bryson and Nashton Proulx (both of Capreol, Ontario). Nova Daoust and baby boy Daoust, Jayce Daoust (all three from Val Caron, Ontario), Kayla Bouvier (of Hanmer, Ontario) and Jayston Harvey (of Capreol, Ontario).
He will be missed by his 2 best friends Bruno and Denis Soucy, his favorite nephew whom he always played guitar with Patrick Gascon.
He leaves behind his 2 siblings Claudette Gascon (nee Pharand) (husband Fern Gascon) and Denis Pharand (wiffe Barb Pharand) both of the Hanmer area.
He will be sadly missed by his extended family, cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.
He will be remembered for his love of country western music and playing his harmonica both at once. He was a kind hearted brave soul that will always be remembered and never forgotten.
The family would like to thank the Northeast Lynn and the Ottawa Lynn for their kind services during a difficult time, and all the PSWs that were there to support him. A big thank you to Nurse Tina who cared for him in his last days of life. Donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
Funeral arrangements will be held on Friday October 23rd for visitation at Lougheed's Funeral Home in Hanmer, Ontario. Located at 4605 Michelle Drive, from 2:30pm to 5:30pm.
Friends and family are welcome to attend wearing a mask inside as a safety measure. Hand sanitizer will be provided at the door, and a maximum of 50 people in the funeral home at a time. If someone goes out, this gives another person the chance to enter. There will be a lunch provided with sandwiches and snack trays.
There will be a church service held at 1pm at the Paroisse St-Jacques Hanmer for 1 hour. The church is located at 46 Cote Boulevard.
