It is with broken hearts that we announce that after a lengthy illness, Rudy Kodors passed away May 12, 2024, at the age of 67 at the Toronto General Hospital ICU. Rudy fought a brave battle with an undiagnosed illness for years until the doctors finally figured it out, sadly, too late.
Rudy leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Barbara and was a proud dad of his sons Nicholas and Griffin. Also, sister Maria, brother Harold and several nieces and nephews.
Rudy graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1979 and went on to have a successful career in senior HR leadership positions in both Canada and the US. He made the decision to follow his passion and returned to school at the age of 52 to become a licensed Psychotherapist. He was very fulfilled to be able to help so many people.
Rudy was an all-star athlete in his youth and never lost his love of sports whether watching his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs and Dallas Cowboys, fishing with his pal Pete or curling with the Elmvale Curling Club. His keen interest in US politics acquired after living in Texas for 20 years, was known to all as were his fabulous culinary skills. Dinner parties were debates with food.
Per his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service. A private Celebration of Life will follow later this summer.
Memorial donations can be directed to the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital where, unfortunately, he spent so much time, or the Toronto General Hospital Ajmera Transplant Centre.
