Sandra Marion Johnston
April 2, 1952 – May 6, 2018
On Sunday, May 6, 2018, Sandra "Sandi" Marion Johnston, age 66 of Scarborough passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa with her children by her side following a brief and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born April 2, 1952 in Dumbarton, Scotland the daughter of the late John and Margaret Johnston.
She was loving mother to Chris Murray (Tanya), Erica Hall (Jeff) and Emily Tabares (Mauricio). Devoted grandma to William, Jack, Ivy, Opal, Hazel, Violet, and Maxwell. Also survived by her sister Marjorie Johnston. She will fondly be remembered by her extended family and friends and many people that considered her their second mother.
Sandi will be remembered for her strong will, acceptance of others, her love of oldies music, VHS movies and art. Her positive attitude and sarcastic humour that she carried with her until her very last day will never be forgotten.
According to her wishes, no formal services will be held. A private celebration of life is being planned.
The family would like to mention a special thanks for the compassionate care given to her by the wonderful nurses, doctors and staff in the Lakeridge Health Oshawa Supportive Care unit.
