It is with great sadness that it was announced of Sergei Semenchenko's passing on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at Ottawa Montfort hospital at the age of 65 from heart failure.
Sergei will always be remembered as a “very nice, hardworking and a funny guy” by his family, colleagues and friends. One of Sergei’s colleagues said that Sergei was a man with a spirit “larger than life”. And it is true. Sergei was thoughtful, caring and always ready to help anyone.
Sergei was working for the OCSB with Special Needs children for many years and brought lots of love and warmth to their lives.
Sergei was born in Kyiv, Ukraine and being Canadian he always remembered Ukraine, its language and traditions.
Sergei was well-educated and broad-minded. He loved fishing and enjoyed listening to music.
For the last 10 years, Sergei lived in Rockland with his wife, Lana and his cat Cleo.
Sergei had a nice life: he brought up a daughter, he had a house and he planted a tree in front of the house.
Lots of great memories will be kept in the hearts of everyone who knows and loves Sergei.
We celebrate your life, we grieve and remember.
Rest in Peace, Sergei.
Amen.
