Flamboyant, fiesty, funny, flirtacious, fashionable Shirley is gone, having graced this world with her beauty and style for over 97 years. Sweater girl, glamour gal, and a big band dancer. Singer on the radio at five, Peanut Queen at the CNE by sixteen. Clothes horse, charm teacher, small ‘ f ‘ feminist never caught without her eyebrows and lipstick on. Movie loving romantic, memorizer of popular song lyrics, witty like her father (Herbert), stubborn like her mom (Mary). Possessor of a sharp tongue and swift sword that protected her vulnerable and sensitive soul. Forever mothering her two beloved children Jeffrey and Lisa. Forever adoring her grandchildren Christopher and Stephanie. The world will be a duller place for her passing. Heaven will be all the more fun. She’ll wear her wings and halo well. We’ll wear our sorrow on our sleeves.
