Shirley Elizabeth Scott

Shirley Elizabeth Scott peacefully passed at Castleview Wytchwood Towers, in her 90th year, on March 24, 2025. She was cared for and supported by her caretakers, who helped her remain comfortable in her hardest days. 

Survived by brother Harvey(Evelyn) Scott; nephew Morgan(Cheryl Herman)Scott, niece Jennifer(David Holgate) Scott (Emma Quinn): Children - Scott Benness; Derek Benness; Paula Benness: Grandchildren: Justin Benness Gagne(Cherise Mead) Ashley Benness Gagne(Ken Johnson), Leah Benness; Rachel Benness: Great grandchildren - Jayden Johnson; Elija Johnson; Anthony Johnson; Mariah Johnson; Noah Benness Gagne; Daisy Benness and Martha Benness.

Shirley was smart and artistic. Excelling in academics and graduated from Toronto Generals Hospital school of nursing and the University of Toronto Fine Arts program. She served her community proudly working in the Toronto area as a public health nurse and teaching French adult education courses. 

Shirley was a fun person, always being artistic and showing her spirit. She loved painting landscapes of her child hood home in Eastern Ontario Shield Country. She had beautiful hopes and dreams of spending the rest of her time retired, painting at her old family cabin on the lake. 

She will be missed greatly and dearly by all of the people she loved and who loved her as well. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a small donation to the charity of your choice in Shirley's name. A private celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date and time.
