It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stanley Peters, a cherished soul who departed this life on March 7, 2025, in Ottawa, Ontario, at the age of 81. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on January 28, 1944, Stanley was a loving husband, devoted father, and a dependable friend whose kindness touched the lives of everyone he met.

Stanley's career journey was marked by dedication and resilience. He began his professional life as a Bank Note Cutter with the Bank of Canada, where his meticulous work ethic and attention to detail earned him the respect of his colleagues. Later, he served as a janitor with the Ottawa Carleton Catholic District School Board, where his friendly demeanor and helpful nature left a lasting impression on students and staff alike.

Those who knew Stan would describe him as more than just a hard worker; he was a genuinely nice guy. His considerate and caring personality shone through in every interaction, making him a beloved figure in the community. Known for his gentle spirit and sensitivity, Stanley had a unique ability to lift the spirits of those around him, often teasing his loved ones with affection and warmth. His support and encouragement were unwavering, and he was always willing to lend a hand or provide a listening ear.

Stanley embraced life with a passion that extended beyond his work. He was an avid enthusiast of outdoor activities, finding joy in golfing, bowling, fishing, and camping. These hobbies brought him great happiness and the opportunity to connect with nature and friends alike.

Stan leaves behind his loving spouse, Rita, and their son, Derrick, who will forever carry his legacy of compassion and kindness in their hearts. He is also mourned by his siblings, Alphonse (Phyllis), Fred (Cheryl), Gord and Vicki (Eric) Tanner, as well as his sister-in-law, Julie. Each of them holds dear the memories of Stanley, cherishing the laughter and love he shared with them throughout their lives.

He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Regena (nee Bernard), alongside his brother, Albin, and sisters, Albina and Eileen. Together, they watched over him, cherishing the wonderful memories they created as a family.

As we bid farewell to Stan Peters, we honor a man who truly embodied the essence of kindness, hard work, and love. He may no longer walk among us, but his spirit will forever remain alive in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him.
