Stylianos Makridis

Stylianos (Steve) Makridis, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on November 4th, 2024, in Toronto at the Western Hospital after a long battle with heart failure and other health conditions. Steve was born in 1937 in Agios Kosmas, Greece to parents Panagiotis and Athena. He grew up in Greece where he met his wife, Maria, and they had their three children. In 1972, Steve and his family moved to Canada where he worked hard to provide a better life and opportunities for his family. No one who met Steve could forget his genuine kindness and willingness to help those around him.

Steve will be remembered for his love of gardening. For many years, he had a garden at his home, where he dedicated hours every day to growing various vegetables that he would joyously share with his family and members of his nearby community. Steve worked for many years at Atlantic Packaging as a factory worker. He enjoyed the job and was always willing to help his co-workers.

He was beloved by many, including his children Athina (son-in-law Christos), Peter, and Kathy, grandchildren (Alexandra, Maria, Kathleen, Filareti, and Argyrios), great-grandchildren (Treyson and Delana), and his wife Maria of 60 years, all of whom he loved dearly. He will be greatly missed.

Steve and his family would like to thank all his healthcare providers, especially Dr. Mark Nowaczynski who looked after his healthcare at home.
