Susan Coffin

Surrounded by family, Susan Coffin, at the age of 63, peacefully passed away on November 21, 2024, after a cancer diagnosis two-and-a-half-years ago. She passed away at the Ruddy Shenkman Hospice in Kanata, Ontario.

Susan was born in Montreal, Quebec, and grew up in Lachine. However her hearts home will always be Gaspé, Quebec where she spent her childhood summers with family. A lover of the water, Susan found peace in its presence and often sought out the Caribbean’s shores for a sense of calm and happiness.

Susan was the daughter of Jessie (Boyd) Coffin (2018) and Leslie Coffin (1970). Susan was predeceased by her sister Phyllis Rupsys (2011) and her brother Stephen Coffin (2018). She leaves behind her two daughters, Jessica Gaudard and Rebecca Gaudard, as well as her grandchildren, Darrien and Savannah. Susan will also be greatly missed by her partner of 18 years, Kevin Barton, her sister Mary (Terry) Oaten, and her large extended family, including numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, many friends and co-workers.

In keeping with her wishes, there will not be a funeral service, but the family will host a celebration of life in the summer of 2025. The date and location will be announced closer to the time.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice Care Ottawa, whose compassionate team supported Susan during her final days. Donations can be made at Donatehospicecareottawa.ca
