In Celebration of the Spirit of Susan

Susan Patricia d'Ambrumenil passed away on July 1st, 2014. She was beautiful, loving and giving. She brought people together, brought family together, and she loved it.
Susan was a lover of the angels, as she truly is one, in the lives of the people who knew her. She was a scholar of everything Spiritual and her spirit name was ‘Dancing Maid’. She studied the Celtic, Native and many other teachings of healing and the spirit. She finished an apprenticeship in Reike and other healing methods as she wished to heal others. In the 70’s and 80’s she saw and drew people's auras in pastel (it was her Art) at the psychic fairs in Toronto and attended them with her best friend at the time, Pauline. She believed in the intertwining of past lives and spirit guides and at one of the fairs had a reading done by a woman who drew them out. She had never met this woman and when it was finished the woman said "the one in the center is a master spirit guide shown on the drawing by the light on his forehead." Rick Basarke walked in and the woman almost fainted! That is how it was for Susan. She studied the teachings of past and present and her knowledge and beliefs were always a welcome guide through the mists and fogs of everyday life. Most of all she knew how to listen and admired those gifted with the same talent; this was part of her great wisdom.
Her walls needed very little wallpaper as they are covered with a library of books. She loved reading everything from new age and spiritual, history, mystery, literature and fiction. She was a collector and it was one of her dreams to write a book of her own. She had a love for all of the arts; from music, ballet, theatre, movies and television. If you called during Coronation St., you left a message… and she may have been slightly annoyed that the phone was ringing... but she called you back right after and she always made the time to talk and listen.

Her Celebrations were always memorable, with wonderful food and good conversation. Her annual Russian Christmas party was two days of cooking and preparation, and those who attended would remember those times fondly. When she set her heart to something she covered all the details. She brought a loving energy everywhere she went.

There are so many stories and remembrances that this is just a start… Please send/add your stories if you wish to add to this memorial. It is a time for the coming together of those who loved her, and your input helps us all to celebrate her memory. She is with us in the butterfly that flies too close to be unnoticed, and the hawk flying and circling overhead with a majestic beauty... look for her and she is there.

She is the love that blooms in our hearts. She would thank you for being a part of her life.

We will be having a celebration of Susan at a date TBD in Toronto. If you wish to attend please let us know at the funeral by leaving your contact details in the Guest Register and we will contact you. If you cannot attend the service though wish to join us at the event then please email Susan's son at robdamb731@hotmail.com. It was her wish upon passing to have us together in celebration; in fact she planned it…

There will also be the internment of the ashes in Burley, England at a date also TBD. The same goes as above for those who wish to attend overseas.

As She would say, Namaste.
