Susan Diane Reed

With bittersweet feelings, we announce the passing of Susan Diane (Scheifley) Reed, our sister, aunt and friend, who, at the age of 83, found peace on the evening of April 14, 2025.

Susan was predeceased by her husband Andrew, and her brother Doug (MaryAnn) Scheifley. She is lovingly remembered by her sisters, Marian Miller, Jean Deshane, and Lorie (Derry) Armstrong and her many nieces and nephews. She is fondly remembered by her good friend, Joan, who has been special to Susan since they met in Conestogo in 1953.

Susan began work as a legal assistant in Kitchener after high school graduation. She also lived and worked in Alberta and Saskatchewan before returning to the Waterloo area for the final stage of a long career.

Susan enjoyed gatherings be it with family or friends. She enjoyed the camaraderie of the 59 Reunion Committee with many of the friends she made at Elmira District High School. Susan cherished her getaway time with Andy at the cottage in Point Clark, along with their dogs, Buffy, Toto, and Oscar.

She spent her final eleven years at the Garry J. Armstrong Bradford House in Ottawa, where she received attentive, compassionate care.
