Sylvia Lalowahti (Ragoonath) Ragoobar

November 12, 1936 — April 15, 2020

Etobicoke

It is with great sadness that we must inform you of the passing of Sylvia Ragoobar. She was a resident of Eatonville Long Term Care Centre where she contracted Covid-19. She was rushed to Trillium Hospital on 12April where she placed in the ICU, and ultimately succumbed to this virus on the 15April2020 at 10:30am. She graced us with her presence from 12November1936 to 15Aprill2020; she was 83 years young.

She will be forever remembered by her late husband Rudolph Ragoobar; Charmaine and Jim Ritchie; Sherrien Ragoobar, Mitra Ragoobar-Bobby, Melvin Van Horn and Deolal Bobby; her late daughter Karen Khadoo, Arya and Danny.

Her parents Ragoonath Kaishwar and Latchmin Ragoonath had 13 children; surviving siblings are Suraj, Vishnu, Rambhajan and their many family members, which also included countless nieces, nephews and friends. She was loved and cherished by her late siblings Latchee, Mohander, Boland, Boysan, Ena, Radhika, Sobran, Bhagoutie and Sabita
We will miss her singing Happy Birthday to us, her kisses and her cooking. We are comforted in our belief that Karen has been cleaning and preparing to reunite with Mom, while Dad is impatiently waiting to find out what Mom will cook for him.

We are unable to have a traditional funeral service due to the Pandemic, so we will instead say a small prayer on 22April and she will be cremated the same day.
Our sincere prayers and thanks go out to the wonderful staff at Eatonville who are faced with an impossible and heartbreaking task, and the Angelic nurses at Trillium ICU. God bless them.
