Tatiana Petrovna Britch

June 28, 1961 — July 3, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of Tatiana Petrovna Britch announces her passing on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at the age of 57 years. Loving mother, wife and sister, Tatiana will forever be remembered by her daughters Diana and Elena, her husband John, her sister Halina, and by her grandchildren Mila, Leanna and Brooke. Tatiana will also be lovingly remembered by her extended family and friends and whose lives she touched with her smile, kindness and grace.
Born on June 28, 1961 to Vera and Petr Romanuk in a small town of Drogichin, Belarus, she began her incredible life journey touching the lives of everyone around her. The youngest of two siblings, Tatiana quickly developed an independent spirit. Her ambitions brought her to Moscow University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science in electrical engineering. This is the time she began her journey into motherhood, giving birth to two daughters and instilling in them the values of honesty, perseverance and hope.
Her dreams for a better future for her family motivated her to immigrate to Toronto, Canada, in 1997. Upon her arrival to Canada she did not speak English, did not know local culture, but had unyielding motivation to succeed and built a career in condominium management.
She continued to be dedicated to her family, and once her grandchildren were born, became the best baba in town. Moving to Nanaimo, B.C. to be closer to her grandchildren, she nurtured them with her love and care. This is where she met her husband, John. They fell in love and moved to Hornby Island where Tatiana reconnected with her love of nature, enjoying nature walks, hikes, fresh oysters and growing a vegetable garden. Yet, she missed her career, and returned to Toronto where she was welcomed with open arms by her colleagues and friends.
Unfortunately, in October 2017 she succumbed to a grave illness. She fought with all her might and continued to smile even during the most challenging obstacles. Until her very last breath Tatiana brought joy to those around her and remained true to who she was; beautiful, courageous and kind. Tatiana's life was cut short, but her family find comfort in knowing that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which she lived.
Family welcomes friends and colleagues to Tatiana’s, Memorial Service. Visitation, concurrent with reception, is scheduled for Monday, July 9, 2018 from 10:00 – 12:00 noon at:
