Teri Rimar (nee Kiss) was born in Hungary in 1934 and was raised with her 7 siblings. Teri trained as a pediatric nurse-2 of her biggest interests – children and medicine. Her career was shortened in 1956 due to the Revolution. Teri and her husband left Hungary and moved to Canada after a 6 month stay in a British refugee camp. Teri started working for Rothman’s but then stayed home to raise her 3 children and helped with her 3 granddaughters. Teri felt those years were the happiest of her life. Later Teri worked for Canada Post. Teri was hard working and although she had many health issues she pushed through her pain and continued to enjoy her family and friends. Teri was a life learner- reading and focusing on documentaries and the news. Teri loved to share her knowledge and have intelligent discussions with anyone she met. Teri lived simply and was fiercely independent- not wanting to burden anyone. For Teri, her family meant everything. She loved cooking and passed that love onto her daughter and her grandchildren-Laura and Emily. Teri had many friends who she played bingo, shared laughs with and ran errands for. Teri will be missed by her children Otto (June), Peter (Leanne) and Susan (Mike), her 3 grandchildren, Laura (Chase), Emily and Alyssa. Teri was loved as “Gigi” by Mackenzie and Brooklyn. A celebration of Teri’s life will be planned for early in the New Year. Details will be shared with family and friends.
