Thomas Anthony Garner

GARNER, Thomas Anthony - Passed away after a brief illness at the Mill Creek Care Centre in Barrie, on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 in his 90th year. Tom was born in Boston, Lincolnshire, England on March 14, 1932. He immigrated to Canada in the early 1950’s and began working on farms across Canada until he settled in Toronto. He was a Civilian with the Toronto Police Services for almost 30 years. Beloved husband of the late Catherine. He will be missed by his cherished daughter Jill (Durante) and grandsons Ryan and Adam. Brother of the late Hugh Garner and Geoffrey Garner. Dear brother-in-law of John and Judy Buchanan. Thank you to all the nurses and staff at the Mill Creek Care Centre for their compassion and wonderful care. Tom will be especially missed by his buddy George who never left his side. A private graveside service will be held at Barrie Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Muscular Dystrophy Canada would be appreciated.
