Thomas George Smyth Sr.

SMYTH, Thomas George Sr. ("The Father", 1st December 1946) -- Suddenly on 30th July 2020 at the Heart Institute, Civic Hospital, Ottawa in his 74th year. Beloved wife of Janie Diane née Kozak. Loving father of Thomas James Jr. (Julie Anne) of Ottawa. Loving grandfather of Athena Lily and Greyson Valentine. Predeceased by parents William ("Bill") Sr. (1921-1981) and Marion Thelma née Booth (1922-2016), older brother William "Bill" Smyth Jr. (1943-2011), sister Marilyn Joyce Hurley (1945-2017) and survived by brother Don (Kathryn) Smyth of Richmond Hill. Dad worked at CN Rail MacMillian Yard, Toronto for 33 years. He loved his family, fishing, swimming and the water, TV and movies, "cookies, cakes and candies", the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple Leafs ("Maple Laughs"), and hopes all his friends at the casinos finally hit the jackpot! Cremation has taken place. A private celebration of life will be held. Donations in Thomas George Smyth's name could be made to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.
