Valda Gordon was born on December 16, 1942 in Westmoreland, Jamaica and passed away on December 11, 2022 in Toronto, Ontario. Valda was a beloved, wife, mother and grandmother. Valda was married to Wilfred Gordon for over 40 years. She was a devoted wife who enjoyed cooking and travelling with her family. She dedicated her life to serving Christ and helping others through her profession as a nurse.
Valda was a nurse for over 30 years. She worked at Bridgepoint Hospital for the majority of her career. She worked hard to ensure her patients felt comforted and cared for while in her care. She always went the extra mile to make others feel special. She strived to live a life that was in line with her Christian values.
Valda taught her family the importance of believing and trusting in the Lord in all circumstances. Whenever she was faced with a challenge she would always say, “don’t worry, God will provide.” She believed that God could support you through all of life’s challenges as long as you work and pray.
Valda will forever be remembered for her kind heart, strong spirit and infectious laugh.
Valda is survived by her husband, Wilfred Gordon, her children, Peter, Steve and Stephanie Gordon and her sister Una Richards. She’s also leaving behind her beloved grandchildren Taneet, Aaron, Alyssa and Amari Gordon. As well as her niece and nephew, Rachel and Vaughn Richards.
Thank you to all our family and friends who were here in person and online to celebrate Valda’s life. She is now peacefully resting with the Lord.
