Verna Marie McCarthy

McCarthy, Verna Marie (nee Wright) aged 76, passed away peacefully on July 5th at the
Carpenter Hospice in Burlington after a courageous battle with lung cancer, with her daughters by her side. Verna was a kind and considerate lady who was always there for her family and friends. She is survived by her 2 daughters Christine and Cheryl (Barry) and son, Marty (Karen) Stephenson. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Andrew, Stephanie, Tyler and Ayden. She was predeceased by her parents William and Ophelia Wright (nee Ciucani) and brother Richard. The Stephenson family would like to extend their gratitude to all the wonderful staff and volunteers at the Carpenter Hospice and Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital in Burlington. A special thank you to Dr. William Procter and Dr. Susan Borden for their support and care. A celebration of life will be held at The Paletta Mansion, 4250 Lakeshore Rd, Burlington, July 11, 2018 from 1 pm to 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Verna's name to The Carpenter Hospice. A private burial will be held at a later date at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Burlington.
