STOCK, Virginia Jane (née Maybee)
At age 88, Jane passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017, in the comfort of her bed at Vision Nursing Home in Sarnia, Ontario. She is predeceased by her parents Gareth and Phyllis Maybee, and her husband Ted (2014). She is survived by her two sisters, Nancy (late Randy Archer) of Coquitlam and Lynn (Keith Watson) of London, and by the strong family that she and Ted created: four children, Michael (Susan) of Burlington, Peter (Carolina) of Sarnia, Stephen (Susan) of Sarnia and Susan (David) of London; 10 grandchildren, Shayna (Leo), Tamara (Rob), Sharleen, Marlo (Ryan), Gary (Laura), Andrew (Kyla), Michelle (Luel), Brian, Jamie, and Sarah; and 2 great-grandchildren, Noah and Jonas.
A woman of many talents, Jane's memory will live on through the things she created. As a visual artist, she worked in many media including copper tooling, oil paints, and ceramics. She played piano beautifully and passed her love of music on to several of her grandchildren. Her deep love of nature is evident in her exquisite gardens, which continue to be maintained by Peter and Carolina. Jane was a member of the Sarnia Artist Workshop, and she and her beloved dogs (Ginger and Annie) volunteered with St. John Ambulance from 1997 to 2013, logging over 1800 hours. A private celebration of life will be held this summer.
