Vivian Ruth Barker

Predeceased by her husband William (Glenn) Barker, her mother Olive Irene Cuthbert and her fathers Edgar Hume and Lawrence Hugh Bolton.  

Vivian will be sadly missed and remembered by her children Bill and Eric (Laura) Barker, her grandchildren Vicky, Sarah, Quinten and Veronica Barker, her brothers Keith (Joan) Bolton and Gerald (Uta) Bolton, along with the countless friends, relatives and care givers that had the pleasure of knowing her.  

Born on August 31^st, 1930 in Elva Manitoba, she later attended the University of Manitoba where she met Glenn.   She had an exciting and satisfying career in the Canadian Public Service, with roles that brought her to live in Sibu, Sarawak, Malaysia; Gombe, Nigeria; Montreal, Quebec City and Ottawa.  

Upon retirement, between trips, she and Glenn spent many winters in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and summers at the family cottage in Gatineau, Quebec. 

Vivian and Glenn lived full, happy, healthy and adventurous lives together.   Vivian loved her family, her friends, the arts, culture, music and traveling.    Until her final days, she was an avid  and accomplished artist with a passion for painting landscapes, flowers, grain elevators, farm animals and her grandchildren.    

Vivian was loved and will be missed by many.
