Walter Pearson Holmes

March 18, 1929 — October 3, 2016

Gone to the big motor speedway in the sky. Walter (Bud) Holmes, born in 1929 in Edmonton Alberta, made the ultimate lane change on October 3, 2016 with his family by his side.
A lifelong gearhead, Bud was always planning some motor adventure, some getaway on wheels. In later life, these wheels became his walker where he staged a couple of covert, but impressive breakaways.
Bud was also known for his unique pairing of beer and peanuts, floating the peanuts freely on top. Many have since tried it and can attest to its full body.
Although he didn’t travel much, Bud spent a memorable New Years Eve in Paris with his son, the details of which were shielded from his daughter.
Bud had staying power. He was steadfast in his presence, and dependable to the end. No one made us laugh more without trying than he did!
Bud is survived by his daughter Heather and his son Michael; his sister-in-law Connie and his niece Shannon. Preceded in death by his wife Joan, siblings Robert, Kay and Helen; his companion Ann, and his dog Sandy.
We’ll miss you Daddio! May you be driving joyously in the land of beer and peanuts with absolutely no speed limits!
