Wayne Elliott Beckwith

September 17, 1963 — July 15, 2019

Wayne Elliott Beckwith, aged 55, of Ottawa passed away suddenly on July 15, 2019 as a result of a motorcycle accident. Born in Germany on September 17, 1963 into a military family, he lived most of his life in the Ottawa area. He married the love of his life, Cheryl McElhone on July 15, 1995 and they began their life journey together.
Wayne's passions included his Harley Davidson which he spent numerous hours honing to perfection. He was also an accomplished musician and drummer in the band Wheel House. He will greatly be missed by his musician friends. Wayne had a passion for flying which led him to become a flight instructor at the Ottawa Flying Club for several years. Ace, the family greyhound was a beloved pet and companion to both Wayne and Cheryl.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Cheryl Beckwith. He is the beloved son of Laurie and Shirley Beckwith, dear brother of Susan Lalumiere and much-loved uncle to nephew Nicholas Lalumiere and niece Jessyca Lalumiere. He is son-in-law to Thomas McElhone and to Mary McElhone and brother-in-law to Fr. Jonathan McElhone TOR and to Ted [Catherine] McElhone.
A celebration of life will be held on July 23, 2019 between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. at The Bridge Church located at 285 Roger Neilson Way, Kanata. Family and friends are welcome to visit and share memories of Wayne.
Inurnment will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
