Wayne Edmund Saulnier

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Wayne Edmund Saulnier in his 68th year. Wayne passed away peacefully on February 11th, 2021 at home in Ottawa, ON with his beloved, devoted wife Colleen and his brother Mark by his side. He was born on 29 February 1952 in Halifax NS.

Wayne was a long-time resident of Elmsdale NS. Wayne was a loving husband to his wife Colleen (Brophy). He is survived by sisters Madeline (Don) McInnis of Oromocto NB, Gail (George) Stuart of Grimshaw AB, Tina (Ron) Fisher of Kingston ON and brother Mark (Dyan) Saulnier of Ottawa ON. He will be missed by nieces Kelly Faubert, Sandra Saulnier, Shonna Carrigan, Charlotte McInnis, nephews Micheal Carrigan, Jonathon McInnis, as well as great nieces, nephews, cousins and long-time friends. Wayne was predeceased by his parents John and Muriel (Somers) Saulnier and brother John.

Wayne was honoured that the Brophy Clan accepted him into their large and loving family so many years ago and especially enjoyed his time at the cottage surrounded by family on Big Island.

Wayne commenced his career at CFB Gagetown NB and retired from the Corps of Commissionaires in Halifax NS to accompany Colleen on her transfer to Ottawa.

The care and support provided by Dr Marie-Claire Boivin, staff of the Ottawa General Hospital along with the Palliative Care team was a great comfort to the family. Heartfelt thanks to all who aided in Wayne’s care.

Due to current restrictions, no memorial service will take place at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when conditions permit.
