Wendy Hyatt “Pokie”” (née West) passed away very peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, at Victoria Hospital, London ON,  Sept 24, 2022, at the age of 67. Wendy battled cancer in 2016,then succumbed to a secondary, aggressive Lung Cancer. Wendy remained positive, and optimistic for a full recovery. Her humor was infectious and kept us all laughing, I think it was that humour, which kept the rest of us going. Wendy enjoyed playing darts, going to the shooting range, watching the Toronto Blue Jays play ball, and anything dolphin. Wendy’s greatest joy was when she met Robin Williams, on set while filming the movie Jumanji. Wendy is survived by sisters, Brenda Stokes of Australia, Donna West(DJ) of Woodstock, ON, cousins Eddie West of Watford ON, Cindy Gale (Isidore) of Woodstock , ON, Aunt Cathy Easveld, of Cambridge, ON. "Punky" and  family from the US, and by her 3lb teacup Chihuahua ,Chloe, as well as other relatives not mentioned. Wendy, will be missed dearly by her friends Krissy MacDonald(Tim), Lisa Peaker, Dan Olmstead, Charlene Milloy, Carolyn Downham, Rhonda Brouyette (Scott),   Nancy   H(Rob),Daniel H, Kelly H(Zach),Ken   Brown(Ruth), Brian Denomy, Cathy Thomson, infinitely  by  her roommate  Jenn  Draper, her  psw friends  Steph  and  Evie. Wendy  cherished  all  her friendships and truly appreciated the kindness that she received by many. She is predeceased by parents, Elizabeth West (nee Miller) of Hamilton ON, Elmo Eugene West of Houghton ON, and lifelong friends, Ruth-Anne  and Dennis Wendy was born in Tillsonburg, ON. graduated with a major in history. After moving to London ,ON ,Wendy began working for Voyageur,  a patient transfer service, until her workplace injury 30+ years ago. Wendy also spent some years in BC, and met many friends along the way. Wendy has been cremated. There will be a Celebration of Life  All are welcome to attend and celebrate Wendy’s life. Donations in her memory can be made to the Cancer Society. Due to allergies, no flowers please.
