It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of (Bill) William Walker Rowe, who departed this life on October 6, 2024, at Andy’s House, Muskoka Hospice, Port Carling surrounded by his family, after bravely facing a 25 year battle with cancer.
Born on May 2, 1959 Bill was a son of Charles and Dorothy Rowe and the third brother of four. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and cherished friend, whose warmth and presence enriched the lives of everyone around him. Bill was 65 years old, celebrating this milestone with a long waited retirement after 35 years with Bell Canada.
After retiring and learning of his illness, Bill’s strength moved him forward to continue to embrace life, buying his dream pickup truck and a new home where he and his family could enjoy life's simple pleasures. Bill loved watching the sunset with all the beautiful colors and the promise of a new day on the horizon. He admired thunderstorms, fishing, music and his harmonica and guitar melodies will forever remain in the hearts of his family.
Bill was a man who would give others strength to get through their hard times and remained positive and optimistic through his. His hearty laugh, witty sense of humor and big heart could always draw you in and brighten the day.
Bill’s legacy is his family and we will carry him with us in everything we do. May he rest in peace, forever remembered and cherished by all who had the honor of knowing him.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Andy’s House, Muskoka Hospice, Port Carling would be appreciated by the family.
