Bill passed peacefully in his home on Sunday July 18th, 2021, at the age of 83. The greatest Dad to Joanne, Laura, and Denise (Tyler). He was the proud grandfather to Sarah, Justin, Michael, Nick, Jordan, Peter, and Jessica. Very proud to be a great-grandfather to Emmary, Tyler, Chloe, and Saphire. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Laura, as well as his brother, Donald (Shirley). He is survived by his brother, David (Pat), and sister, Patricia (Tom). He will be missed by his many friends and extended family.
Bill was an x-ray technologist for 60 years. Patients often requested him as he would make them laugh. He’d talk to them about the Universe and if they were young, he’d quiz them about their favourite school subjects. He was often one of the few people that still knew how to fix some of the old x-ray equipment. He loved working and was proud to be recognized as the oldest x-ray technologist in Canada!
He often referred to himself as the “Old Man” and over the years had many passions. He loved music and could play the organ for hours. He attended two events annually: The Handel’s Messiah and Riverdance. He was very handy and had to fix anything that was broken. Many homes in the GTA have been repaired by Bill. His other love was computers. He knew everything there was to know about a computer. But the thing he loved more than anything was his pipe!
It’s difficult to summarize all of his achievements in his 83 years of life, but the biggest accomplishment was his joy of living. He insisted that life be lived and to have fun while doing it. In lieu of flowers or donations, Bill would want us all to celebrate life.
A celebration of life will be arranged for a later date.
