It is with great sadness we announce the passing of William Stewart Griffin. Bill passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 13 at the age of 92. Loving husband of Betty Cinnamon for 64 years. Much loved father of Roxanne (Denis Brisson). Predeceased by 3 sons Kirk, Todd and a baby boy. Cherished Poppy of Natalie (Andrew Chennette), Melanie and Lindsay. Proud Grand Poppy of Cayden. Predeceased by parents Stewart Hamilton Griffin and Lavinia Alice Smith, and siblings Don (Eva), Dave (Georgina), Bob (Yvonne), June Petraschuk (Bill), Iris Gott, Ruth Patacairk (Ernie). Brother-In-Law to Joyce Holmes (late Stuart), Audrey Stewart (late Arnold), late Gary Cinnamon (Jane McKay), Mary McMillan (late Bill), Judy Cinnamon (Reg Cayer), John Cinnamon (Linda), Susan Rooke (late Keith).
Bill was a transport driver for Hume Transport, previous owner of the Rideau Cove Marina, a loyal member of the Ottawa South Lions Club. He travelled around the world selling hovercraft that he designed and built. He also designed multi-terrain vehicles (ATV) and Griffin Electric Boats. He was a forgiving man with a kind heart. After all the hardships in life, he was still strong, positive and optimistic.
A graveside interment will be held at 1 p.m. at Pinecrest Cemetery, 2500 Baseline Road on Monday, November 21, 2022. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Bill’s life at 6784 Breanna Cardill St, Greely from 2:30-4:30 p.m.
