William Lee (Bill) Hubbs

Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at the age of 74. Beloved husband of Lorraine (née Rochon), father to Carrie-Ann (Greg) and Christopher Lee (Kylie). Grandfather to Jordyn, Danika, Braydon, Laughren and Sloan.  

Bill's first love was his family. He was happiest when surrounded by his children, grandchildren and loving wife with which he celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last fall. Whether it was spending time at a summer cottage or snuggling with the grandchildren in Calgary, Bill always made sure that people around him knew they were special to him.  

However, Bill’s passion was coaching and helping out with youth sports. He could be found lending a hand with hockey, soccer, and softball but he found a love with the sport of ringette. Bill began coaching with the Gloucester Ringette Association when his daughter took up the sport in the 80’s. From there he became involved at the recreational, provincial and national level. He moved over to the West Ottawa Ringette Association where he got to be a part of his granddaughter’s teams. Lovingly known as Coach Grandpa, Bill continued to touch the lives of many young athletes and loved to watch the girls enjoy the sport that brought him so much happiness.

Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, October 27th, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Ale Restaurant, Amberwood Golf & Country Club, 54 Springbrook Drive, Stittsville, Ontario, K2S 1B9.
