Willie Hiemstra

Hiemstra, Willie (nee Schinkel) Willie Hiemstra (also known as Audrey) passed away on Tuesday evening, January 22, 2019 at Saint Joseph's Hospice in London, Ontario at the age of 77 after a long battle with cancer. The youngest of ten children, she was born in Utrecht, the Netherlands, and immigrated to Canada in 1953 with her family. She met a young Frisian man at a youth convention and the two have been inseparable ever since. She married Ollie on March 30, 1962, and they built a life together that brought blessings to everyone they met. Left to remember her love are her husband Ollie and their six children, Brian (Carol Ann), Duane (Thea, deceased), Sandra (Paul), Mark (Cathy), Heather, and Chad (Nancy); fifteen grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; eight remaining siblings; many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and beloved friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 26 from 2 - 4 p.m. at Good News Church, 476 Clarke Rd., London. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 27 at 2 p.m. at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, 716 Classic Dr., London. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Willie's name to World Renew.
