Winnifred Grace Burchell

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Winnifred Burchell, daughter of Clifton Maxwell and Annie Eileen, who passed peacefully surrounded by family in her 83rd year after a hard fought 5-year battle with cancer.

Winnifred was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill of 61 years. Remembered as a loving and devoted mother to Marilyn, John and James, grandmother to Steven, Christopher, Matthew, Ashley, Sara, Michael, Jonathan, Jessica and Amanda and great-grandmother to Colt, Jax, Cash, Elizabeth and Matilda.

Remembered as always hardworking, successful in life and her career, generous and kind to family and friends and the best baker of cookies and treats that her grandchildren could ever ask for. Her apple pies were especially enjoyed by all. She will be forever missed by her sisters, Eileen and Joanne and brothers, Clarence, Kenny, Robert, and David.

Memorial donations in Winnifred’s name can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and would be greatly appreciated. The family also wishes to send a very special thank you to the staff at the Georgetown Hospital for their care and compassion.
